Well, at the end of our South Specific blog (2006) we promised to get back to New Zealand as quickly as we could, and here we go again...it's 2007, and we will be back on a plane headed for Vancouver on December 29th, and then on to Auckland on the 30th. The new long-haul Air New Zealand flights direct from Vancouver to Auckland will put us in New Zealand by 6:30 am on January 1st, 2008, having crossed the international date line overnight.
This time, we'll be travelling with our youngest son, John, and his girlfriend Jess, who will be studying for her teaching degree at Massey University in Palmerston North on the North Island from January to December. We figured that "helping" them settle in was a great excuse to get back down to the kiwis we love, but we are staying for (only) seven weeks this time. Nevertheless, we plan to pack in lots of travelling between islands and exploring of sites we missed last time, so stay tuned for another blog adventure!
